Window boxes are a wonderful way to decorate the outside of your windows. Pick the right mix of plants.
Choose an exciting center piece of something a little taller for the center and towards the back of the box. Some nice center piece plants include fountain grass, geraniums, marigolds, and wild flowers. Then add some small and classy accent flowers or foliage for filler. Some great filler plants in window boxes are: pansies, petunias, impatiens, snapdragons, and lobelias. For around the edges, pick a plant that cascades down the side such as creeping petunias, ivy, or sweet potato vine.
